Hey dany! Sorry I was gone for a while. Glad to see you've been doing stuff while I was gone. I'll take a look on the weekend. Maybe I'll be motivated to add things like the new shaders and other latest development things. :D

Hi, Nick, thanks. No problem. Glad to have news from you. :D
If it can help, I've started from the last version I uploaded to this forum just before your own upload to git: 787013011-V03-Dev (I'm still under FG 200). Maybe some new features like chrome are absent (compatible with FG 200? I'm hesitating to upgrade because of the possible graphics card problems).
Let me know if you wish to know which files I've modified.

Dany

Yeah, it would be good to know which files you have changed. You're working off my lastest release of dev version, right? (The one with the modded OHP)

Omega95 is in the process of making a huge overhaul of the cockpit, systems and remaking a JSBSim FDM for the 787-8, although I'm not sure exactly what his intentions are as he has only posted improvements on the Merlion VA Facebook group.

Cheers,

Thanks, connect, I didn't know that.
I'm interested in seeing what this future JSBim FDM will give (I prefer JSBSim, although the current 787-8 YASim FDM became good after all the work done. But it has been hard to get rid of, or circumvent with the AP, YASim's roughness and spazziness).
I hope these improvements in avionics can be transferred to the future version with the new cockpit.

Waiting for news from Omega95 on the FG forum ?...

Cheers

Dany

I started from my latest release of dev version 787013011-V03-dev, updated and uploaded on 15 Feb. 2011 here. It should be very close to your latest. Your new OHP is included and operational. I haven't touched it. I see no more recent version from you on the forum.

Instead, the 78720110222 "Front Page Release" is obviously an older version (I just tested it but I didn't use it).

For my 787-v20120113 version: --> replaced by 787-v20121121
I started by importing the B1900D (FG 240) AP/FD: autopilot-dlg.xml,
and the radio stack: tranceivers.xml
Firstly, this led me to redo the dashboard user interface and profoundly modify (and clean) flightdirector.nas.

Files which have been modified:
787-8-autopilot-03.xml
787-8-set.xml
787-sound.xml
Ap_Fd.xml
autopilot-dlg.xml
chronometer.xml (imported from 777-300 and corrected from errors)
cockpit.ac (slightly and by hand, to add an object)
cockpit.xml
dialogs.nas
eicas.xml
flightdirector.nas
hud.xml
nd.xml
pfd.xml
README.txt
system-8.nas
tranceivers.xml

Due to an invalid token (an ' à ' in a comment !) wich prevented the autopilot from loading under FG 2.8,
new version link : 787-v20121121

Dany, are you aware of the work by Omega95, Redneck and numerous others on developing this aircraft into an essentially brand new 787 (the only thing remaining was the original exterior model and UV mapping)

I thought all development of this older version would cease due to the aforementioned work...
Just curious.

Cheers,
Sam.

Please read my phrase well. That's not development, the extra development has been made before jan 2012, when I did'nt know of the new version in preparation (neither nickyivyca if I understand well his 20 jan 2012 post). I've stopped working on it. Just a small point of maintenance because I've noticed that people still downloaded this version, which had been greatly improved (see my 10 jan 2012 post) after 787-8 release on the main site.
If you prefer, I've corrected it for 'new link'.

But I presume the next step is the JSBSim version on the main site.

Cheers,

Dany
