OK, on the Polish forum we decided that the next event will be a formation/escort flight. The route we chose is Poznan-Berlin-Frankfurt-Luxembourg-Paris-London (EPKS-EDDB-EDDF-ELLX-LFPO-EGLL). There will be two attempts - first on 2nd August and second on 3rd August. We are going to start from Poznan-Krzesiny AFB (EPKS) at 17:00 local time (15:00 GMT). The aircraft we are going to escort is E-3B NATO (I'll post a topic about this livery; BTW I think NATO uses E-3A, but does it matter for this event?) - probably Harry_man will be flying it (if no one else wants to do it). Rest of us can use any fighter aircraft of course
We have already made a similar flight and it took more than 3 hours. But of course if someone can't fly the whole route he can start/end whenever he wishes.
Max speed of YF-23 is variable, depending on how much fuel you want to save (i got up to 723 and ran out after a while). Min speed is 110 but you will be flying at a 20 deg angle. it can be controlled with the trajectory circle in the HUD
I think this aircraft will be suitable. 300 knots should seem at a normal angle
EDIT: We should let the E3B take off, reach 300 or 320 knots, then we chase it down intercept, and stay in formation with it.
EDIT2: Maybe we can use the A-10 too, but the YF-23 would be faster
The flight was excellent! We had people coming and going the whole time... and had a good turnout throughout We had as much people here as we have on average at KSFO!
I believe some of us have snapshots of the formation we made :p
