Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport (TNCS) - downloadable

Postby KLM-Royal » Sat Oct 22, 2011 8:14 pm

Hello,
after some weeks, modelling and work with textures it is now completed  the Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport also known as Saba airport.
The airport has got the smallest runway in the world with only 396 meters. More informations can be found here
The terminal is very small and looks so in the reality :

... and in Flightgear :

I know there is a lot of work left but you can only become better. :D

Thanks guys.
I added the "stone" next to the terminal. I think it needs improvements but temporarily it's sufficient.

The airport grows and grows. In the last time i worked on some niceties of the airport. Now there is a fence, flags next to the terminal and finally some cars on the parking.

If there is anything I've forgot please tell it me  .By the way the download link will be available soon.

Wow, you and horacio are doing some great stuff for the caribbean making it even nicer to fly there :D

In such a small airport I would not have any parked planes but if you create a ground network you could also create some local traffic flight plans, that would make it seem more alive.

Gooneybird has right because there is only space for one parking, unmovable Dhc-6 and a helipad. By the way a Winair livery for the DHC-6 you can get here and this mountain in front of runway 12 is there also in the reality.
Here are some pictures of the progress:

There is the unmovable Dhc-6 which parks next to the helipad.

... and here is a Dhc-6 Winair while it's taxing to the final park position.

Nice, all the little details add up to a big impression. Maybe put a service vehicle of some kind in the garage, like in the real-life photo?

Yes, in the garage is normaly a yellow fire truck the problem is that there isn't such a fire truck in Flightgear.

No sorry this truck is too large for the garage. The only vehicle which does fit in the garage is this ...

Image

... but this truck is a refuel truck, it should be a fire truck.
