hi, thanks for you work.

I had problem with my Linux and I was using FG 2.0 version so I don't have latest aircratf. Now I get install latest vesion, but I don't use to download development aircraft, so I need some help. My fgfs version:
Code: Select all
./run_fgfs.sh --version
Processing command line arguments
FlightGear version: 2.3.0
Revision: bad5fbf66aaeb52ac189258c18dedbf0d3d25904
Build-Id: none
FG_ROOT=/home/myuser/fgfs/install/fgfs/bin/../fgdata/
FG_HOME=/home/myuser/.fgfs
FG_SCENERY=/home/myuser/fgfs/install/fgfs/bin/../fgdata//Scenery:/home/myuser/fgfs/install/fgfs/bin/../fgdata//Scenery/Terrain:/home/myuser/fgfs/install/fgfs/bin/../fgdata//Scenery/Objects:
SimGear version: 2.3.0
PLIB version: 186

I download CRJ-900 from your (skyop) links
http://flightgear.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10420

The CRJ-900 that you downloaded is the outdated version. You can get the latest version of the CRJ-700 family here: http://gitorious.org/fg-skyops-aircraft ... its/master. Click the Download master as tar.gz button.

Warning: the CRJ700-family version is only compatible with Flightgear GIT!

Not quite- basically, the original CRJ900 which is still in Git right now will be superseded by CRJ700-family, under development here. It's not done yet, which is why it isn't in Git. ;)

I finished the tiller steering system- the controls are exactly like the ATR 72's, but the internals are slightly different.

There is now a tutorial available, it prepares the downloaded XCF file with a reusable path (exported and reimported) for easy drawing, not to draw over edges which would result in these bad looking white stripes around your airplanes (and any type of textured building).

I post it here because it uses the CRJ1000 paint kit file.

Some things/questions which may be fixed in final release:
+++ The engine sounds for indoor and outdoor are awesome! Just play them loud on a good sound system (I have "only" Dolby Surround Pro Logic with 2x 100 Watt)
? On overhead panel: buttons "L/R BOOST PUMP" and "GRAVITY XFLOW" are always ON, should be OFF by default?
? Same panel: button group XFLOW is completely out-of-functionality (can this be made working? How complex will the Nasal code become?)
? Doesn't the APU produce some sound? E.g. the Airbus aircrafts have some sound for it.
! The STOP buttons for both engines are not working (CTRL+C does show a yellow wire frame around them)
+ But they can be shut down when I move the thrust leveler to SHUT OFF
? The pedals on the ground (for taxing/wheel brakes) should animate both together to front if I press key "b", but they move when I use the yaw rudder
! I hope you fix the position for STAB TRIM/MACH TRIM (can they made functional?) as seen above
! In menu Fuel/Payload: LH Wing is double (one should be RH Wing)
! There are gaps in windshield and side window textures
? How does reverse thrust work?
? What is BLEED AIR? (upper middle)
? Can CABIN PRESS and "AIRCON" made functional? (upper right)
? And what about hydraulics?
? The fire detector is out-of-functions, how does it notify the pilot in real life? Beeping/flashing?
? Auto-pilot panel: What is B/C? And can the AP follow glide slope path (as the default AP can)?
? The little knob (e.g. for lighting up the font), it isn't clear in which direction it is actually showing
? Can you add a bump map to the panel textures (with that screws bumped out)?
? On the joke is a small, red button. What is it for?

Please try to answer/fix all. :) I'm not demanding here or so, just giving you ideas which might be for interest. And if it is to much for us gamers, maybe an auto-copilot (Nasal-based) as I have seen in an other airliner would be helpful (e.g. half-auto/manual mode).

Long post time. :D

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:+++ The engine sounds for indoor and outdoor are awesome! Just play them loud on a good sound system (I have "only" Dolby Surround Pro Logic with 2x 100 Watt)

You can thank HanselVB for that. :)

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? On overhead panel: buttons "L/R BOOST PUMP" and "GRAVITY XFLOW" are always ON, should be OFF by default?

Yes; in real life, the boost pumps (presumably) boost the fuel flow to the engines. For now, they just turn on/off the left and right tanks entirely. But gravity x-flow does what it's supposed to do.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? Same panel: button group XFLOW is completely out-of-functionality (can this be made working? How complex will the Nasal code become?)

Very. The middle x-flow button (the one labeled "auto") is actually a manual-override switch for the automatic x-flow valve that is always on IRL. The left and right buttons determine which tank to transfer the fuel from (i.e. pressing left will move fuel left, pressing right will move fuel right).

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? Doesn't the APU produce some sound? E.g. the Airbus aircrafts have some sound for it.

Don't know what it sounds like. :P

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:! The STOP buttons for both engines are not working (CTRL+C does show a yellow wire frame around them)

The stop buttons do not shut down the engines, they abort a startup in progress.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:+ But they can be shut down when I move the thrust leveler to SHUT OFF

Exactly.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? The pedals on the ground (for taxing/wheel brakes) should animate both together to front if I press key "b", but they move when I use the yaw rudder

Right, right now, they're just rudder pedals. I don't know if they act as brakes too.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:! I hope you fix the position for STAB TRIM/MACH TRIM (can they made functional?) as seen above

Yaw damper will definitely work, will have to do some research on what those two do.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:! In menu Fuel/Payload: LH Wing is double (one should be RH Wing)

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:! There are gaps in windshield and side window textures

?? Is that the chrome shader?

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? How does reverse thrust work?

Now, you have to press control-delete (or click the switches on the thrust reverser panel) to arm the thrust reversers before you can deploy them. (Once armed a message should appear on the EICAS, "L/R ENG REV ARMED").

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? What is BLEED AIR? (upper middle)

Selects the bleed air source for engine startup.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? Can CABIN PRESS and "AIRCON" made functional? (upper right)

Not really- in the future, maybe as a novelty item ("You have neglected to pressurize the cabin and your passengers are now unconcious.").

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? And what about hydraulics?

Unlike the ATR 72, a lot of the hydraulics are fully automatic, so I decided not to model it this time.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? The fire detector is out-of-functions, how does it notify the pilot in real life? Beeping/flashing?

Yes, it flashes, and presumably, pressing the button dispatches the extinguisher. It's not modeled on the new CRJ700 (yet).

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? Auto-pilot panel: What is B/C? And can the AP follow glide slope path (as the default AP can)?

B/C is the backcourse hold, which allows you to fly an ILS glideslope from the opposite direction to land on the opposite runway. Not modeled as I have no idea how to program an autopilot to do that (any takers?). Yes, it can fly a glideslope- press the APPR button and make sure all vertical functions are disengaged.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? The little knob (e.g. for lighting up the font), it isn't clear in which direction it is actually showing

? Sorry, don't understand.

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? Can you add a bump map to the panel textures (with that screws bumped out)?

Good idea, maybe before release. (But another Git-only feature.)

Quix0r wrote in Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:33 am:? On the joke is a small, red button. What is it for?

It disengages the autopilot.

I modeled the additional side panel today, and lightmapped the cockpit. Time for another Like button, 439Tiger?

Skyop,

When you make a change to the cockpit, does it apply to all planes in the family?

Skyop,

I am reading your commit log in Gitorious and you say that the Air Canada Jazz liveries are fictitious, first "fictitous" is spelled wrong  , second, I went and looked at Jazz Air's fleet and they operate CRJ-705s, so unless you are planning to make a 705, I think you should leave them there.

Dangit, forgot the i.

The registrations identified a CRJ900 and CRJ705- so unless 439Tiger wants to remake them in the CRJ900 paintkit (or distribute them on his website), I've decided to remove them because they're not "real liveries" in the sense.
