I should explain my earlier issue too.

I downloaded the April 25th version. It worked for a few days until one day I started on the Paths page on FGRun. The boxes were empty, but I soon figured out what to put in them. Then I went to the aircraft list and every aircraft appeared twice on the list. Then I tried to start FG, but got the same error. I tried reinstalling twice, because the first time I accidently installed it on the wrong drive, but the aircraft list was normal there. I transferred it to the other drive, refilled the Paths boxes and guess what, the aircraft list doubled again. So I got rid of that one and downloaded the latest version. But I can`t get this one going.
As 439Tiger said, one option would be to get GIT, but I`m not going to.

Wingtipped wrote in Thu May 05, 2011 4:45 pm:I`m using the latest one and it doesn`t start.
It gives me this error:
"Processing command line arguments"

{recived from SimGear XML Parser}

Any suggestions?

You could try reseting the default fgrun options ... click back, back, back in fgrun until you can't go any further, then look for the "defaults" button at the bottom of the screen.

It didn`t work. Maybe a file is needed, because it says recived from SimGear XML parser.

I'm pretty sure it worked here when I tested it. Can you turn up the debugging log level and see if it dumps any more detailed information on the error?

I got it going and the cure was incredibly simple.
As it turns out, two seperate versions of FG interact with eachother. I just needed to start 2.0.0 to use it as the snapshot.

Tried Windows snapshots of 18.04 and later 02.05...I have some questions which concern all these:
1) Parkposes don't seem to be working (checked at EETN, EDDF, some others). FGRun can see them, but not FG itself. Has the parkpos file format changed or what is the reason?
2) Shared objects don't seem to be working in either of these versions I tried. Is this some kind of a new feature?
3) Another strange thing I noticed on server 01 in dev snapshot of 18.04 (didn't test it in 2.05) that over Germany I seem not to have multiplayer. Strange is, while I was flying over the Baltics or in Tallinn, I could see some people in pilot list. While flying through Germany, as well as while staying in Frankfurt, I could not see anybody either visually or in pilot list, while there were quite many people on mpmap and I could contact them by FGCom. I haven't seen something like this in other regions.
Thank you.

New developers' snapshot posted today (May 9, 2011). Should include all the latest git source code and data updates as of the time this was bundled up and uploaded to the mirror sites:

Sorry, but I linked the last weeks snapshot in the post above. And despite some problems some may have experienced downloading, I didn't have any trouble at all downloading it. But anyway, here's the actual version:

Cheers!

I just tried both files and they both stopped downloading after two minutes or less. Download speed was good but it was cut short.

@Curt: Can you give us a current list of mirrors please? I'm asking because some of the ones listed on http://www.flightgear.org/mirrors.html are not working anymore.

PS: For me this server works the fastest (almost 2MB/sec): ftp://ftp.kingmont.com/flightsims/flightgear/Win32/

Another question: With the latest version, when I use the HUD, I see a horizontal trimmer (as if there's a trimmer for ailerons too). What is it and how is it used? (Tested C172P)

It is used to display the aileron trim. Which is available by default in lots of FG aircraft even if the real aircraft hasn't any aileron trim.

Yes, it's been 5 days since the last one. :-) Look for the next one on Monday hopefully. I've been trying to put out a new one at the start of each week.
