Hmm... the same bug is affecting EGKK (London Gatwick) as well, so I'm not alone in this /sim/paths/use-custom-scenery-data=true mess.

Victory!!! My jetways are the first to implement night lighting! :D

Submitted to TerraSync, should be available soon.

Clarification: Actually, one of the X-plane jetways in the database already implements night lighting. Pretty much every other jetway model in the database has a broken implementation.

I recently redid most of the animated jetway system. Here are the changes:

  • Much more flexible and solid animation system, using interpolate() and a custom interpolation table lookup function instead of a bunch of aircraft doors
  • Fixed the "jetway #2 hits the engine" bug for the 757 and 787
  • Fixed the "jetway doesn't work when using the UFO to place jetways" bug
  • Each jetway (I'm not talking about different gates unfortunately, I mean jetway #1, jetway #2, etc.) operates independently now
  • Tooltips finally work as they should

I've submitted the updated *.xml files to Martin; the new version will hopefully be available within the next few days. It's Christmas time though, a busy season for all FG developers (including me). ;)

Good. I'll re-enable the second jetway for the 787 in preparation for a front-page release that'll go unedited until I finish the cockpit and stuff.

If you use the latest development snapshots, than indeed the jetways may be broken. If so, I will file a bug report.
I noticed just the same thing at LOJO where the whole features of the hangar (doors, lights, pads...) are broken and the code used is similar to the jetways.

The movable jetways are not installed at KSFO.

Really? I have not noticed this on my Git copy. Note that the jetway versions in Terrasync are slightly more updated than the versions in Git.

Two different things. A functional model in TerraSync may break with the newest git version if something changes in the code.

It couldn't possibly be a change in Git though, as the jetways use nothing fancy, just a regular pick animation and a clever nasal script. If something were to happen to either of those things, the effects would be catastrophic, and not just confined to the jetways.

Well, if you read the wiki, you would have known to press Ctrl-C to check if they are clickable or not, and in this case they are not.

Well, not trying to be rude, but if we could understand what you're trying to say you might get a better answer, but anyways;
now thanks to skyop's hard work on the movable jetways, few airports actually utilize this model in the scenery, and implementing them on EVERY airport would require a lot of work to change them from the ones that don't move, to the ones that do.

I dont quite know why the new KSFO scenery doesnt feature the jetways, but apparently it doesnt, you could take that up with the KSFO development thread.

Whenever somebody decides to add them in. :) As long as the jetways aren't an actual part of the airport model itself, I don't think it would be very hard. All it would require is a redirection of the file path. :)
