Other planes on other side of world

On Multiplayer, other planes show up on the Pilots List as being on the other side of world and are incommunicado, which stopped me attending TGA 18. Why?

Make sure you have --enable-ai-models on the commandline used to start FlightGear. It is required for multiplayer.

I think it's "AI Traffic" that should always be turned off, not "AI Models" (that is used to see other players aircraft in MP) .
With AI Traffic turned on while being in MP, you will crash sooner or later (sometime less than 5 minutes after starting FG) , turning it off will prevent those crashes.
