I think we could do that. The 'Cat and all of Culp's carrier-based planes have a launch bar, which has a similar effect. If we could replicate that, and sustain that behavior, it would probably be the same or very similar.

Not to be a party pooper, but I noticed something when I tested the aircraft. There are some instruments that appear to be from Dave's MiG-21 and the DavePack. These are non GPL, so you may have to remove them and make some instruments. Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

As I said before, MiG-21bis is for my personal use and based on David's MiG-21MF. I will make it fully GPL compatible when I replace all foreign code and implement my own or some GPL instruments. For now I don't have enough time and necessary skills to finish it... I usually just model and paint textures, but I'm a beginner in nasal scripts and xml code. Only a few FG developers made something from scratch, most aircrafts are based on other FG projects. I could probably also sell them on Turbosquid but I'm sharing them with open source community so don't try to put me down. If mr. David Culp or someone else have some issues with that please contact me.

Vitos has a bunch of 3d instrument for mig 15 and some of them are similar to mig 21, also you can ask for his help in russian words and document.
A good flight sim is not to make people feel fly easier but to make them feel fly is as real as it get.

Maybe Yurik helps you too.
I think that no instrument of mine (those for Mil Mi-6) are used in the MiG 21. But if I am mistaken, you may use them.

Wow that looks way better... BTW: could it be that your MiG-21 lacks of window-glasses?

I do have glass (windows) on the canopy but they just don't have defined thickness and shader over the transparent texture. :)
But it's a good point, I'll fix that...

Gunsight is progressing but I'm getting some weird rendering artefacts in FG and missing faces in AC3D (complex .obj export from Maya?).

Great stuff in development is that you always learn something new. :)

MiG-21bis is back on track, for now in early alpha (incomplete instruments). Good old 3D model, all new XML code...
