When you use the "Disable tow aircraft" menu option and when you use any plane's call several times.

wlbragg wrote in Thu Aug 18, 2022 6:56 pm:I don't know if you corrected it yet, but there is a typo in the "Aerotow in the way" line. I think you meant it to read "Aerotow on the way", on VS in.

Thanks, I didn't notice this, fixed.

wlbragg wrote in Thu Aug 18, 2022 6:56 pm:Also, can I push another AI aircraft to the addon? I have a WW2 C-47 used to tow the Airspeed Horsa gliders on D-day and the Airspeed Horsa is in FGADDON Aircraft. So it would be another appropriate tow plane glider combination.

I can push it to your repos however you want?

Douglas C-47 Skytrain? A large plane. I wonder if it will be necessary to change the taxi path to the runway. But sure you can send a pull request and we will see.

OK, version 1.5.0 of Aerotow Everywhere addon is now available in the fgaddon repository. Also the Airspeed Horsa in fgaddon next can now be used with the Aerotow Everywhere addon. The key bindings have been fix to allow for an AI connection. CTRL+o is the connect to AI aircraft key combination. Shift+o I believe releases the towline. See the Horsa help for all the available key bindings.
The rope defaults for the Horsa is such that if you forget and leave the parking brake on the rope will break. It will also break if you pull on the rope too hard while inflight.

Thanks again @PlayeRom for this wonderful addon, it is so cool!

Great ! I have an idea - would it be difficult to have the tow plane return to the airport after the tow is released ? Just as an idea of what "would be cool", no idea if it's even possible.

v1.7.0 is now available in fgaddons. Thanks @PlayeRom for the altitude clamp. I can now do the d-day tow without needing oxygen.

Return to the airport would be possible to do, but just after completing the designated route. Because without the API, I can't change the route that is loaded from the XML file, so now I can't change the route after some event like towing is released. The whole route must be designed before launch the tow plane. I hope that the core team will add the ability to create a route via API, which hopes not only will remove the problem with adding the `--data` option, but also give a lot more possibilities, such as just change the route during the flight and reacting to various events.

I am currently refactoring the AI code and am adding high level route code. Like arcs and lines. Maybe in future also something like land at XXXX will be possible because I am fixing entry into descent from any position.

I have released a new version 1.8.0.

Changes:

    1. The tow plane, after completing its route, returns to the runway from which it took off. For a bush take-off it does not land.

Unfortunately there is a problem that the aircraft collapses underground for a while on touchdown. So far I have not been able to deal with it.

I'm getting and error when loading the addon.

Parse error: bad lvalue
at D:/Addons/Aerotow Everywhere/aerotow.nas, line 16

It appears to be...

var true = 1;
var false = 0;

If I comment them out the error goes away?
