Submit your screenshot for the SOTM of November 2020

Postby Anarcho-pilot » Sat Oct 31, 2020 9:59 pm

Hello everyone!

Now's your chance to submit your candidate for November's FlightGear SOTM contest!

Participation Rules
1. 20 entries (because a poll can only have 20 options).
2. Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
3. You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
4. If you submit a screenshot of another person, please make sure he/she grants you the right to publish it under the correct license.
5. Please convert your picture from .png to .jpg (plenty of converters online).
6. Must be taken with FlightGear.
7. Every picture should have a caption. It would be useful to add the name of the aircraft and the location, where the screenshot was taken, to the caption. (For example: "Greeting the dawn - C172P, Keflavik".) Otherwise, please, mention it at least in your entry.
8. Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing (but you may use the in-sim ALS filters). You may also add titles mentioning an author of the screenshot and/or aircraft/location displayed on it.
9. You may change your entry as often as you want, until the voting starts.
10. You agree to license your screenshot under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license for publication by the FlightGear project.
11. You agree that the screenshot may be used to promote the FlightGear project, including publication on the flightsim.com forum with proper attribution according to the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license.

Here is a Wiki article with some advice on making nice screenshots: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:Make_nice_screenshots .

Voting will start when 20 entries are reached or at the latest on November 21st, in a separate topic.

Best wishes - Anarcho-pilot.

Showing off the improved landclass definitions for the upcoming release of FlightGear defaulting to the Iceland scenery. Showing the lava ridge with lush grass and shrub coverage and the improved reflection and bumpmap shader for the DC-3.

I'm absolutely sure I converted them to jpg before uploading it to that service. It seems they have converted it back to png.

Anyhow, I'll convert it it to jpg, probably tomorrow.
Update: done.

This looks really cool! Are you using orthophotos in this scenery?

The point is that I do not know what a orthophoto is, so I would say no

No, that looks like one of the default textures that come with FlightGear.

The most unusual screenshot I've seen on the contest so far. Is it Princess Juliana International Airport?

Yes, that's TNCM.... with some (broken) shader stuff, I'm playing around with.
