Submit your screenshot for the SOTM of October 2020

Postby Anarcho-pilot » Sat Oct 03, 2020 9:47 pm

Hello everyone!

Now's your chance to submit your candidate for October's FlightGear SOTM contest!

Participation Rules
1. 20 entries (because a poll can only have 20 options).
2. Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
3. You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
4. If you submit a screenshot of another person, please make sure he/she grants you the right to publish it under the correct license.
5. Please convert your picture from .png to .jpg (plenty of converters online).
6. Must be taken with FlightGear.
7. Every picture should have a caption. It would be useful to add the name of the aircraft and the location, where the screenshot was taken, to the caption. (For example: "Greeting the dawn - C172P, Keflavik".) Otherwise, please, mention it at least in your entry.
8. Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing (but you may use the in-sim ALS filters). You may also add titles mentioning an author of the screenshot and/or aircraft/location displayed on it.
9. You may change your entry as often as you want, until the voting starts.
10. You agree to license your screenshot under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license for publication by the FlightGear project.
11. You agree that the screenshot may be used to promote the FlightGear project, including publication on the flightsim.com forum with proper attribution according to the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license.

Here is a Wiki article with some advice on making nice screenshots: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:Make_nice_screenshots .

Voting will start when 20 entries are reached or at the latest on October 24th, in a separate topic.

Best wishes - Anarcho-pilot.

This submission is for Hyphow, as he didn't manage to submit it on time for the pevious month's contest.

Hyphow, you can't submit any more images this month, as only one entry per person is allowed. But, of course, you may change your submitted image, if you want. Just post the new one in this topic, so I'll know, that this submission is no more relevant.

Dang, beaten to the punch on the NYC screenshot. That's okay, Stuart's is better than mine would have been anyway. Here's a different one.

There is going to be some tough choices. Many great screenshots this month.
Low-level flying — It's all fun and games till someone looses an engine. (Paraphrased from a YouTube video)
Improving the Dassault Mirage F1 (Wiki, Forum, GitLab. Work in slow progress)

@V12: I find it amazing how you can spend whole threads complaining about FG scenery, how bad it is and how it doesn't run for you - and then make screenshots from the same scenery to compete in SOTM.

I would have to agree, though on the other hand I definitively agree that the framerate is not... well... optimal.
