Submit your screenshot for the SOTM of April 2020

Postby Anarcho-pilot » Sat Apr 04, 2020 10:58 pm

Hello everyone!

Now's your chance to submit your candidate for April's FlightGear SOTM contest!

Participation Rules
1. 20 entries (because a poll can only have 20 options).
2. Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
3. You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
4. If you submit a screenshot of another person, please make sure he/she grants you the right to publish it under the correct license.
5. Please convert your picture from .png to .jpg (plenty of converters online).
6. Must be taken with FlightGear.
(*updated*) 7. Every picture should have a caption. It would be useful to add the name of the aircraft and the location, where the screenshot was taken, to the caption. (For example: "Greeting the dawn - C172P, Keflavik".) Otherwise, please, mention it at least in your entry.
(*updated*) 8. Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing (but you may use the in-sim ALS filters). You may also add titles mentioning an author of the screenshot and/or aircraft/location displayed on it.
9. You may change your entry as often as you want, until the voting starts.
10. You agree to license your screenshot under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license for publication by the FlightGear project.
11. You agree that the screenshot may be used to promote the FlightGear project, including publication on the flightsim.com forum with proper attribution according to the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license.

(*new*) Here is a Wiki article with some advice on making nice screenshots: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:Make_nice_screenshots .

Voting will start when 20 entries are reached or at the latest on April 26th, in a separate topic.

Best wishes - Anarcho-pilot.

Vatsim Cross the pond: KLM607A, ready for push, Boeing 777-300ER at Amsterdam

Image

Probably not going to win with this screenshot, but I couldn't keep it from the community :) All the shown aircraft are piloted by other VATSIM members, most of them ready to leave for North America :)

The story behind it:

2020.04.04 1317Z - KLM607A: Schiphol Planner, KLM607A, stand J81, request push and start.
2020.04.04 1318Z - EHAM_PLN: KLM607A, my southern neighbour, let me see what I can do for you. oh too bad, runway 36L has a rather long delay, please call me back minute 40
KLM706A: Clearance assigned us runway 18L, ANDIK2E departure, KLM607A
EHAM_PLN: Oh, in that case something went wrong and it's your lucky day, KLM607A, contact ground immediately 121.8
Instead of 30 minutes, I got up in the air 10 minutes later, of to KSFO :)

Immediate reaction was looking for the spam link and who posted this, then seeing a familiar name, then seeing no link.

Hi Johan!

Sorry, I feared that this may cause some confusion...
All that was the result of a boring day, which was cheered up by Isaak's story of him getting such a good line up position; I thought to myself "Lucky slot!" and then "Wait, there MUST be a casino somewhere with THAT NAME! Let's see..." And after known search engine spat out that picture, even with a large triple-7 in it, I couldn't resist to share that perfect match with others.
I hope everyone who sees that picture rather thinks of "Boeing" than anything else...

Ciao,

Adrian
