Submit your screenshot for the SOTM of February 2020

Postby Anarcho-pilot » Mon Feb 03, 2020 9:04 pm

Hello everyone!

Now's your chance to submit your candidate for February's FlightGear SOTM contest!

Participation Rules
1. 20 entries (because a poll can only have 20 options).
2. Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
3. You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
4. If you submit a screenshot of another person, please make sure he/she grants you the right to publish it under the correct license.
5. Please convert your picture from png to jpg (plenty of converters online).
6. Must be taken with FlightGear.
7. Every picture should have a caption. Please limit yourself to about five words.
8. Please add the name of the aircraft and the location where the screenshot was taken to your entry (not necessarily to be mentioned in the caption).
9. Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing (but you may use the in-sim ALS filters).
10. You may change your entry as often as you want, until the voting starts.
11. You agree to license your screenshot under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license for publication by the FlightGear project.
12. You agree that the screenshot may be used to promote the FlightGear project, including publication on the flightsim.com forum with proper attribution according to the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license.

Voting will start when 20 entries are reached or at the latest on February 24th, in a separate topic.

Best wishes - Anarcho-pilot.

the link is 404...
are you sure you set the pic to public viewing?
are you sure you copied the entire link to the graphic and not to the page?
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

I have no experience with Google Photos, but I think you should find a direct link for the picture, which should end with .jpg.

Kind regards,
Sidi

Please, convert your image to .jpg and update your post. It is mentioned in the set of rules, that participants should use .jpg instead of .png.

Welcome to the FlightGear forum, Marsdolphin, and thank you for the participation in this contest. I'm glad that you have finally managed to upload your screenshot to the forum. But, please, convert your image from .png to .jpg, as it mentioned in the set of rules, and update your post to provide the link to the converted image. .jpg images have much lower file size than .png. So it will be more convenient for users who don't have very fast Internet to upload pages, which have only .jpg images instead of .png.
