Submit your screenshot for the SOTM of December!

Postby legoboyvdlp » Fri Nov 30, 2018 2:48 pm

Hello Pilots! :D

Now's your chance to submit your candidate for December's FlightGear SOTM contest!

Participation Rules
20 entries (because a poll can only have 20 options)
Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
If you submit a screenshot of another person, please make sure he/she grants you the right to publish it under the correct license!
Please convert your picture from png to jpg (plenty of converters online).
Must be taken with FlightGear.
Every picture should have a caption. Please limit yourself to about five words!
Please add the name of the aircraft and the location where the screenshot was taken to your entry (not necessarily to be mentioned in the caption).
Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing (but you may use the in-sim ALS filters).
You may change your entry as often as you want, until the voting starts.
You agree to license your screenshot under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license for publication by the FlightGear project.
You agree that the screenshot may be used to promote the FlightGear project, including publication on the flightsim.com forum with proper attribution according to the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license

Voting will start when 20 entries are reached or at the latest on December 25th, in a separate topic.

Cheers ;)

Warm winter day in the vicissitudes
Image
Sunset in Beijing Nanyuan Airport (ZBNY/NAY), the very first airport in China.

Beijing Nanyuan Airport, which has played an important role in the history of Chinese aviation, was built in 1904, opened in 1910. It is located only 15km south of Tiananmen Square.

The scenery is still in progress, I will publish it as GPLv3 once it is done.

There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

The quality of the screenshots these days keep amazing me, coming from the days when FlightGear looked like this:
http://wiki.flightgear.org/FlightGear_H ... 96-1997.29
Current: Parachutist, Paraglider, Pterosaur, Pilatus PC-9M and variants, ERCO Ercoupe, Fokker Dr.1, Fokker 50, Fokker 100
Less active: Cessna T-37, T-38, Santa Claus. Previous: General Dynamics F-16. Worked on: Wright Flyer
