@Thorsten: Indeed, the shadows look so real. Always impressed by exterior and interior lightings, and the work done about it.

Long time I didn’t play with forecasted failure in the mission config file. A powerful tool.

A few droop test and some dual and single engine press to Meco to test, and we should be good.

Great fun while doing some contigency aborts.
My preferred one, double engine failure after liftoff.

Abort mode is engaged and trajectory is lofted quite a bit until SRB sep
Image

At 70000 feet, when the differential pressure is high enough to not damage the OMS, the propellant is dumped

At SRB sep, Contigency and OPS6 mode.
The Shuttle will roll upwards to prepare the External Tank separation

Before reaching the dense atmosphere layer, the External Tank is released.

NZ hold phase, a constant vertical acceleration is hold.

Hi all,
I'm closely following the items in the Space Shuttle Manual trying to get into the orbit, and then back down. After external tank separation, propellant dump and APU shutdown the next item is Orbital insertion burn which requires OPS 105 to be loaded on the DPS - but when I enter OPS 105 EXEC with the keyboard, nothing happens and item 22 shows a blinking LOAD. I can't set any values to ITEM 18 to 21 for the new orbit with ITEM 18 + 200 EXEC - it simply doesn't react. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong ?

If that's indeed what you do, then please note that the terminating key for OPS is PRO and not EXEC, so the sequence

OPS 105 EXEC

is not valid syntax (and presumably gets ignored by the parser).

I meant PRO, not EXEC - was a typo.

Then we need a more detailed description of the issue including a screenshot of the state when the command is refused and a look at the error log in the console / log file.

In the FG output I already looked - there is nothing unnormal, no errors. As for the screenshot, I'll need to do the same thing over again to get it !

you could make a video if capturing the problem is that tough...

new versions of FG next can make videos directly if all the needed libs are installed during compiling and execution modes...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Yeah, maybe a video is better … maybe I'm doing something wrong much earlier. Is 5 FPS okay ? With ALS on, my PC can't do more than that, especially when recording !

Is there any wiki page on the new builtin video recorder ? Because I don't know if I should record live or in Replay ? :?

At least if I am supposed to diagnose something, don't do videos, I won't watch them. As for 'recording' on replay, that won't store 95% of what is relevant, so it can't be used at all for such purposes.

I'll need to do the same thing over again to get it !

Funny, and there's the completely unused save.resume function feeling lonely then :D

Okay, so you just need a screenshot of the DPS when I can't enter anything ?
