As far as I'm aware, while SLC-6 at Vandenberg was rebuilt to handle Shuttle Launches, it was never actually used

Do I need to add the rockets? When I tried the Atlantis on launcher I didn't see them. :?:

The Shuttle didn't have nav lights, did it?

Nope, because of Challenger.

As far as I know, I'm the only one in possession of a properly launching shuttle for FG. So right now this is a preview only.

Nope - as my book says - the airspace was reserved anyway, so it got an exemption :-) I'm not quite through with undoing all the non-realistic things the space program people have done - but they'll be gone for a release.

I have another question:
Why in the missions are used only Russian aircrafts like the AN-12 and the AN-22? I'm not saying that I do not like them, but I want to know why you don't use more aircrafts like the C-17, the C-5, the A-400M or others?
Just a curiosity, nothing else.

i've been curious as to why the boeing transport craft hasn't also been used for carrying the shuttle... i can understand the one as that was used in the eastern version of the shuttle but i guess there's a distinction between the two shuttle craft... did the eastern one ever get actually flown or was it only glide tested a few times before being shelved??
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

From what I know, the Buran flew only once for a test flying around the world in the late '80s and stop, never entered into service.

Just to clarify again: Please note that I am not in any way affiliated with the 'Space Program' (my involvement in making FG spaceflight possible long predates it...) - the shuttle you see is my attempt to rig something that actually has halfway correct performance characteristics and flight dynamics. It doesn't come with any missions, transporters, badges or whatever. However, it launches :-)

Ahh, ok. The topic's title is a bit tricky  .
I'll ask it somewhere else.

Yeah - the topic is now misleading. I wanted to know if they'd be interested in committing to realistic flight dynamics - since the answer was essentially no, there's no point in collaboration, so... mods, should I rename the thread?

It's your topic, but yeah renaming it to something Shuttle-like would make sense now ;-)

Lights, with their glass casings, requirement for wiring, etc...would pose a bit of a risk regarding thermal protection and subsequently structural integrity during reentry. Hence my question.

I've got so many questions regarding space flight in FG right now, but I guess each of them can be answered with "Yes, it's possible, but someone needs to implement it." :D
