Ground elevation maps

Postby mickybadia » Sat Mar 04, 2017 8:35 am

Hello,
Last night's update to version 1.1.2 contains a ground elevation map feature. The biggest point of an elevation map is for the simulated traffic (solo and teacher sessions) to be correctly positioned vertically while taxiing and landing. Except for flat fields, so far traffic always appeared under/above ground so taxi never looked perfect regardless of the adjusted offset.
The best way to create a ground elevation map is to use the provided script, which uses "fgelev" (comes with FG installations). Read the resources/elev/Notice file for more detail.

When a map is present, you can also look up terrain elevation for any point on the map with the measurement tool (SHIFT+right-click).
