osgEarth renders the terrain scene by building the textured geometry at runtime from raw source imagery and elevation data.

Questions about OSG Earth

Postby Tufter » Tue Nov 23, 2021 9:14 pm

I have a few questions about FlightGear osg earth integration.

1. Can I use Osg Earth with the latest version of Flightgear?
2. If I can, how do I? (Any up to date forum posts or wiki articles)
2. What are the benefits of using OSG Earth (Is there better terrain data, scenery, etc.)?
3. Where does OSG Earth get its photo scenery from and what is the resolution of this scenery?
I was setting myself up to ungraciously dismantle this perfectly good little airplane and then off in the distance I heard a voice.
And I think it was that of my flight instructor saying: "You can always go around"

There really in no reason to use OSG Earth any longer. We now have photo scenery capability built in.
Kansas and Ohio/Midwest scenery development.
