Allow upload of images within forum posts

Postby jharris1993 » Fri Jan 20, 2017 5:16 pm

Greetings!

In the course of trying to communicate issues or unusual findings within these fora, sometimes I want to attach a picture to illustrate the point or issue I am describing.

Unfortunately, the only way to include a picture is via some kind of "url" - this (I am assuming), assumes you have uploaded the picture to some cloud picture storage.

Many other fora that I have participated in allow the inclusion within the posting, or as an attachment to the posting, an uploaded picture or document.

I would humbly beg that the ability to include pictures or other objects be added to these fora.

Thanks!

Ah. I think this post will be of help: FAQ: Screenshots

The reason we do not have attachments on the forum is that images takes so much more storage space than text.

Some of the image hosts do not even require registration (imgur comes to mind, but I am certain there are other as well). ;)

Johan,

Good points, and thanks for the link!

p.s. Your signature has me laughing - every time I see it I think of some hot-shot flying a Red Bull race-plane into some absolutely impossible situation and then hearing "putt. . . putt. . . cough. . . cough!"

Here in the Frozen North-land, I still see idiots who don't realize that it doesn't matter if you have 2-wheel drive, 4-wheel drive, or 37-wheel drive - it is all irrelevant on ice!

Thanks for the humor, it is appreciated!

You are most welcome. :D

I have never been able to find the video again that I got that from. It was some Australian GA pilots flying over some empty sand beaches at ~10 ft height.

Regaredimg icy roads the same happens here. In particular in the impatient capital for some reason... ;)
