i only saw a few minutes loss of access to the sql database server...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Hi guys,

no need to report on the forum that the forum was down. If it's back up it means we were aware of that ;-)

it's just discouraging to see another FG infrastructure go to a halt, gives us a "doomsday" feeling

it's still there - so no loss of data.

That is also the major disadvantage when compared to the devel list (or newsgroups): central infrastructure like a forum or wiki can easily be shut down or just "fail", and there would be massive loss of data (see the avsim incident a few years ago)
Please don't send support requests by PM, instead post your questions on the forum so that all users can contribute and benefit

After our "wiki incident" I have implemented a much more thorough backup process for the forum, wiki, and other key flightgear infrastructure components. These are snapshot'd nightly, and then also covered by a larger backup system that saves level 0's and incrementals going back approximately 12 months.
