That way, it wouldn't be too much work for a single person - more like a "community-driven" newsletter, while this may appear to sort of defeat the purpose, not all newsletter recipients are necessarily also wiki users.

if you mean to have the wiki instead of the newsletter, I disagree because the newsletter is pushed from the producer onto the consumer, while the wiki is pulled by the consumer. if you simply meant to have a wiki page as the source of the newsletter's contents this can be a good option

...so I'm confused......where can I submit stuff to the newsletter and/or access to help make it???
I'd love to help and make the newsletter's probably first ad?
Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.

Despite having over 1700 posts here, I am not even close to being the most skilled guy here... I'm just words and bad drawing, not experience. :P

Just register at our wiki, visit the October Newsletter (that's the one we're writing on right now), click the edit tab and add you content. Then use the preview button to see whether it looks the way you want it to look (images, links and stuff) before saving it. The deadline for the October letter is 31 October 2009, 24:00 GMT. After that, it will be secured for edits and we will start on the letter for November.

You also might take a look in the wiki manual before writing anything to it: http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/Help:Contents

Cheers,

Yes, as long as you have a computer, a wiki account (free to register) and some ideas on what to write ;)
Your English does not have to be perfect, native English people will check it for grammar (which does not mean you should not try your best at it though).

I'm not sure there's really any need for a separate website - the wiki works very well at the moment.

Yeah, but I thought there wasn't enough emphasis to the contents.
I mean, there's not much publicity and its hard to just go there...
If we want it easy to use, shouldn't we have a separate address for it?

There is a link on the wiki homepage, to last months newsletter...

I do agree it would be nice if Curt could make an announcement at FlightGear.org as well.

Hi@all!

The next newsletter will contain a lot of stuff as I can see now! :D

But I'm a bit dissapointed: Just one or two lines about a new aircraft is not that what people want to read.

I think the newsletter is to inform People about new stuff and also make them interesting in following the developement of FlightGear. For people who don't have the time to read everyday and 24Hr the forum and maillists.

It would be great if people could write a bit more than just one line.
Something like: which features will be made, which authors, if there is help needed, and maybe a litte introduction.

Remember: with this newsletter we can attract many more new users! :D

Well, it's a nice start. If everyone just adds another sentence for each aircraft, we will get a paragraph in the end ;)
