Why exactly do you need to use a password longer than allowed ? Short ones are better to remember anyways …

You remember your passwords?
I assume they use as password manager which can generate and store passwords of pretty much any length... We generate passwords with 40 characters by default.
We don't see a reason to have that limit (technical or otherwise)

Well … whoever placed that limit must have had a reason for it ! But I guess Gijs could be convinced to remove it.
