Absence notice - development information

Postby D-ECHO » Thu Sep 16, 2021 11:02 am

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to let you know that due to personal reasons, namely starting university this fall, my time spent with FG will continue decreasing to almost none, this also means that the development of the aircraft I maintain will slow down or completely come to a stop.

If there is anyone interested and has the time to continue development on any of the aircraft I currently develop/maintain, please contact me so that I can give you an overview of the current status, how development is organised etc. I'd be very happy if those that do so have a serious interest in the aircraft and developing it as realistically as possible, not adding unrealistic "features" etc.. Also, an understanding of and a respect for the terms of GPL are obviously must. This of course only concerns development within FGAddon, outside of that everybody can use the aircraft in accordance with its licensing terms ;)

Have a good time and I will make sure to pop by once in a while, probably also making some smaller adjustments and improvements when some distraction is due :D

Thus far, I want to wholeheartedly thank everybody here for every part of FG!

Best Regards
D-ECHO

EDIT: See https://wiki.flightgear.org/User:D-ECHO ... f_aircraft for a list of aircraft ;)

Benedikt,

We cannot let you go without thanking you for your continuous contributions.
Up to now you have 2340 posts. Of those 2340 must have been very valuable.
And those aircraft....wonderful! Great additions to FGFS, especially for historic and soaring.

Whatever your future brings, I am very sure you will manage in the same great manner.

No worries, our favorite twoseater will continue to be refined :)

Wishing you all the best! Feel free to come in once in a while! (or around for a beer, when in town)

Niels

Dido, you have to come back from time to time in the short term and also to continue involvement with the project in the long run.
It won't be the same without your presence.
Now don't get me wrong, but my kids always used the "university/college" excuse for getting out of things. But I happen to know how much free time they actually had while attending, good grades and all.
We're really going to miss your presence!
