OpenRadar is a standalone radar screen which connects to the FlightGear multiplayer servers. It is currently being developed.

ZOMBIE plane ?

Look at this picture I took right now of EDDF on the MPmap:

Do you see the plane right in center, named GEC2509 ? I happened to be controlling EDDF, and that plane did NOT appear in OpenRadar ! Neither it did in FlightGear - as you can see, I spawned in, and that plane was not in the Multiplayer "pilots list". There must be a bug, either in the MPmap, or in the FGFS version the guy was using. :? :shock: :?:

I do not know how this is now, but a decade ago not all of the MPServers were connected to all of the other MPServers, see illustration below.

On the other hand I have seen several times that aircraft "artifacts", probably from crashed FlightGear sessions, in a few cases can be left on the servers for several days at their last position. It have happened for me once as well, and is the reason to why I have probably 20 more hours on the CASA_C-101CC than I have flown it.

That must be it - once, an ATC controller was shown at flightgear-atc.alwaysdata.net for almost a week, but he was not controlling.
