Can I join your workshop on mumble? Also, you could put your own files on google drive like I have done to that other person who asked for the KSFO tower. Thanks ATC411/it0uchpods

They are (almost) not needed anymore - the new OpenRadar version is now able to get the data from a new mapserver set up for the purpose. (A few details are missing, e.g. aprons and taxiways, but at least it's possible to get new airports again).

Hi, aprons and taxiways are taken out of the file apt.dat, the xplane airport definitions. It does contain some airport in high detail and others only as runways.

No one encounter this problem ?
I can live session because i had a backup of the LFLL directory, but when starting with a fresh install, i still blocked during the "OSM_STREAM" step .(even with the last version available on https://sourceforge.net/projects/openradar/files/)

I second that.
Just tried KSFO
after lengthy wait I got: ".. Server responded with error 404 Not Found"
BUT: I then started OR again and KSFO was listed and could be started ok. I am not sure if everything was there that may be needed.
(Also I still work with the "old" downloads in the new OR.)

Maybe you can try if it is complete/"usable" like that!

OSM_STREAM is the largest of the scenery files and it can take up to several minutes to download it. You can watch the download activity in a system monitor or the task manager or maybe in an activity monitor provided by your modem/router.
OSM_STREAM files can be very different in sizes: For TFFF it is only 0.5 MB; for EDTY it is 142 MB.

jomo wrote in Tue Sep 27, 2016 8:19 am:BUT: I then started OR again and KSFO was listed and could be started ok. I am not sure if everything was there that may be needed.

The main things that an ATC needs are informations about the runway and navigational aids, which are not downloaded for each airport but taken out of files which are already included in OpenRadar.zip. Because of server problems some months ago, OR can now start without scenery files. You might miss the background with coast line, rivers, seas, cities etc.

For testing I've downloaded LFPG (70 MB) right before I write this now. It took more than 2 minutes to download OSM_STREAM. It got finished, so there shouldn't be a problem with the server. Maybe it would be helpful to have a number showing how many bytes are already downloaded to show that there's no blocking. Or watch the download activity or your computer.

Well i tested and filmed it - it looks much better now, see e.g.:
http://www.emmerich-j.de/EDDF/Films/temp/KJFK.ogv
http://www.emmerich-j.de/EDDF/Films/temp/EGGL.ogv

To also see probable Internet-loadings I tried one very early in the morning - the other at noon (see time upper right corner)

Seemed to me much faster than when I tried last time. So probably it just depends on the load at the sever from time to time.
I would say: Problem solved!
