Why won't OR allow me to send links through chat?

OpenRadar is a standalone radar screen which connects to the FlightGear multiplayer servers. It is currently being developed.

Why won't OR allow me to send links through chat?

If I try to send a link to someone through the OR chat, it will not send. Not that the link is too long for the MPChat protocol, it simply will not allow me to send links through to people. Why is this?

probably in your link is a dot - and dot's are set to a unique meaning.
So either do not use dots in your msgs or change in settings what code to use for short megs.

Thank you Jomo, this is true. dots are the leading character of aliases (see http://wiki.flightgear.org/OpenRadar:_Chat_aliases)

To avoid that we send out invalid aliases, I check if there is an unresolved allias in the message and block them. Otherwise they would be sent out directly. Maybe my check is not good enough and it can be improved. Can you send me your example please?

I have not tried it yet, but what happends with this URL in flightgear? Is it clickable?

EDIT:
There is an issue with URLs that have only one dot in it: Example: "http://www.flightgear.org/" works "http://flightgear.org/" is blocked. This is caused by the way I check for unresolved (usage of non existing) aliases. I try to match a generic URL to make this check wider.

No, the URL is not clickable in FG MPchat (would be a nice function), but the two URLs I am talking about that I was trying to send were:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/mumble/
and
https://github.com/artix75/A320neo

As you can see, they are direct links to their domain and thus only one dot.

These URLs work now, after my change.

You can download the fixed JAR from SourceForge - OpenRadar - Files. Simply replace the existing OpenRadar.jar!
The ZIP file has not been updated yet.
