Geometry axis for the locked-track animation ?

Postby TheEagle » Sat Oct 23, 2021 4:59 pm

In the model animation howto it is stated that translate, rotate and knob animation can use a geometry axis instead of giving the axis as <x-1> <x-2> etc. values. But I am also using it for the spin animation. As the docs seem to be incomplete, can a geometry axis object also be used for the locked-track animation ? It's so much easier …

Yes, its possible. One drawback is that a axis object will be taken only as axis. If you specify it with <x-1>, <y-1>, <z-1>, <x-2>, <y-2>, <z-2> it is in real a vector that starts at point 1 and point to point 2. This vector is a axis but serves also a direction where rotations are depend on.
So it can be that locked-track animations dont work well.
