Contributing to the Canvas system (Nasal and C++)

Canvas is FlightGear's new fully scriptable 2D drawing system that will allow you to easily create new instruments, HUDs and even GUI dialogs and custom GUI widgets, without having to write C++ code and without having to rebuild FlightGear.

The wiki contains some pointers on contributing to various parts of the canvas system - for now, this is just intended to be a collection of discussions that we've had, so that people can get a good first impression:


In addition, there are a number of scripting space frameworks (ND, PFD, EFIS, EFB etc)

If you are interested in working on any of these, please do get in touch first - the wiki isn't updated that frequently, and there are some side-efforts going on, and sometimes ideas may already be obsolete - so it is better to coordinate things first.
