AI Messages

Postby scighera » Wed Feb 08, 2012 2:53 pm

I do have noted that very frequently there are an overwelming amount of AI Ground messages !!! Almost half of the video is filled with messages coming from all over Europe.

The pic below, taken in Innsbruck, show messages from Nurnmerg, Treviso, Innsbruck (that's normal), Zurich, Villafranca, Ljubljana, Adria, Milano

It's very annoing !!!!!!!!!!!!

+1.
It should be user selectable to enable/disable.

Go to Equipment -> Radio and check if COM1 has a frequency of 0. If it does, change it to any other frequency (perhaps the local one, obtained with the "get ATC frequencies in range" dialog). This should solve your problem.

The settings of COM1 and COM2 at the start up are:
COM1 = 119.4 - 118.85 (stby)
COM2 = 118.3 - 133.775(stby)

I switched by the the stby frequency, and, as you suggested, apparently the AI messages reduced to almost none ...

Regarding this, there seems to be a problem with setting com1 via command line .. If I do:
    fgfs --prop:/instrumentation/comm/frequencies/selected-mhz=118.62

then press F12 I see com1 is set to 000.00
Can anyone confirm and/or declare this problem bugreportworthy ? Thanks

I can confirm this bug (I use Git version 2.7.0) and the problem exist since some months.
I haven't any idea how to solve it.

Cheers,

I traced it through, it's a consequence of atc_mgr trying to set com1 to Tower frequency. I'll raise a bug report once I've confirmed it's still a problem with today's download, thanks !

The flood of messages should be stopped now. Bugfix was applied a few hours ago (see bug #656).
If you can (build FG yourself), please test the latest release version (no new RC installers available yet).
Thanks for reporting.
