Local weather: No metar available. Aborting...

Guys what's wrong with weather? When I try to apply live data combined with detailed weather I get this warning. Also, metar data shows "NIL". Does anyboby know something about it?

did you search the forums? the problem has been known and discussed in several topics as well as the mailing list since noaa.gov switched to https usage from http several months ago... there is a fix coming unless it is already available... you don't say what version of FG you are using but older ones will not be fixed...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Hi wkitty42,

My apologies about creating a new topic on an issue that has been already discussed. Of course I'm aware of the problem related to noaa.gov but here's the thing. I did search the forums but all posts I'd read were quite a long time ago and I thought maybe the issue has been resolved. So, this is why I took the initiative. Anyway, the fix you're talking about is available at this point or not? To answer to your question, I'm running 2018.3.2 version.

Kind regards,
George

The fix concerns the binary, so you need to download and install the 2019.1 release candidate, it can't be changed on 2018.3

Hi Thorsten,

Ok, understood. I guess 2019.1 has not been released yet, right?

Kind regards,
George

You can download the 2019.1.1 release candidate here. Be aware that this is not the definitive release and that you still might encounter some bugs, but it's very helpful that the release candidate is tested by as much people as possible so we are sure the release is stable once it's launched :) have fun!
