2016.2.0 Missing Scenery folder in Windows build

Postby Necolatis » Sat May 14, 2016 5:09 am

Myself and a mate recently downloaded the nightly windows build of 2016.2.0

In $FGData there is no longer any Scenery folder. Is this on purpose?

I thought there would be LEBL scenery shipped.

Its no biggie though, I can just use Terrasync, just thought I would notify about it.

Yes, this is the design as planned on the FlightGear development mailing list. The Barcelona tile will be bundled and shipped with the stable release. It will not be added to FGData. If each airport were to be added and then removed for each release, the FGData git repository size would blow out of proportions, as the data will remain permanently in the repository history.

there is a LEBL scenery pack that can be downloaded and used for testing during this time before release... i forget where it is, though :(
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
