Several of us have installed this version, which is offered by default on our GNU/Linux distribution. And we none of us have the ground....Trees, buildings, streets yes but no ground....Thanks to Nic80 who found the solution

Indeed, in the file Compositor/Effects/terrain-default.eff

normally line 377 is missing a "<or>"


By adding this missing "<or>" the ground reappears.
