Thanks for the link :)

There is one major annoyance for me - the replacement of model view with a "legacy" MP view option which not only doesn't work, but when I returned to viewing my own aircraft, all the scenery had disappeared and didn't come back, wrecking my flight as I had no ground to land on. Tried this three or four times, same result. There are a couple of other possible issues, I need to get more information and rule out a few local possibilities before raising tickets for them - but that model view thing is disastrous from my point of view.

Update: Apparently, somebody tells me there is a new way to view MP aircraft - am attempting to test it now. The legacy option is definitely broken, though, will report via the usual channel.

Hi

Today I installed 2020.1 on Windows 10.
The minor issues is that sometimes, when it launches, it freezes and must be terminated and started again. This is hard to reproduce since it seems to be happening randomly.

The major issue is that in Route Manager, I cannot add waypoints neither in simple format (specifying only FIX name), nor in FIX@altitude format (eg: EPUKI@20000).
Happened with Citation II and Boeing 707.
Thanks!

PS: when will the Citation X be finished? I'm waiting for it for at least 3 years :)

If you installed the release candidate try getting the final release version - do those problems persist in the released version, 2020.1.2?

I checked the Sourceforge page from where I downloaded the installer - it is 2020.1.2
Sorry for being a bit offtopic. Was not paying attention when I downloaded and later looked at the version displayed on the Download Center page.

Not quite Lydiot, those are release candidates; the full release is here:
http://download.flightgear.org/builds/2020.1/

(I believe there was a bugfix or two after the RCs)

There is a big difference: in versions 2016 and 2018 I CAN FLY the Citation II. AutoPilot is functional, though not perfect but can be controlled via the Route Manager and can be activated from the button between the seats.
BTW: in 2020.1.2 (installed it 2 hours ago) I cannot activate AP on Citation II.
Since it's midnight and I'm too frustrated, will try the Boeing 707 tomorrow to see if I can activate its AP.

To sum things up for today:
- 2020.1.2 is installed as of now
- now I can add waypoints to Route Manager but
- Citation II doesn't have a functional AP anymore (compared to ver 2018).

Oh :?: There was absolutely no change on AP.
Are you sure you was higher than 500 AGL as you activated the AP?

As a side note: you can also activate the AP by pressing the first button on the FD panel (below the HSI)

I usually activate it above 6000 ft AGL.

you can also activate the AP by pressing the first button on the FD panel (below the HSI)

I tried tht, but it's possible that I did it in the wrong order.
Can you also use the route manager?

PS: for "stable experiences" I use v 2018.something on Debian Linux.
Got into trying 2020.1 out of curiosity. That's how I discovered the anomalies.

I'm also on Debian GNU/Linux 10.0 Buster with FG 2018.3.2 from the repo, but use mostly FG 2020.2.0 (self compiled).
I can't remember the last changes on the AP. I think the AP is unchanged since years, so it should work.
Today, i have a test flight from Zürich (LSZH) to Sumburgh (EGPB) on FL400 with AP and all works fine.
