The trick is playing with the magnification and view position until all the cartoonish fgfs roads and rivers are out of the frame, and disabling the skydome shader. Oh...and starting with a great-looking model! :)

Unfortunately, mountains just don't look very good with the standard 2.4 textures, and I haven't gotten around to finding better ones yet.
