Am I wrong or those wings were shaking? Anyway, interesting challenge. Is it better to use a heavier plane or it doesn't matter?

You were right, the 744 has wingflex  Heavier planes might actually even make it easier to take off in strong winds. I mean; taking off a C172p in 40kts winds will certainly give you more chance to win than taking off an A380 in 40kts winds.

A c172P cannot even stay grounded in 40 kts of wind. Already tried that one with my own personal stunt challenge: manual ILS with extremely poor visibility with an extreme crosswind. I made it, but shortly after touchdown, the plane was blown away like a kite.

Hehe erm, well maybe 40 kts is a bit much for a C172p then.. 35? :P

Seems to me that a heavier plane, having more momentum, would be less affected by turbulence.
This is a family-friendly saloon. No talk stink.

Cool video redneck, the first attempt convinced me that if I'm gonna try this I'll use a heavier plane.

LOL. Thanks. Trust me, the second attempt was no cake walk, either.

There were 3 more submissions on YouTube as video responses. I'm trying to reach Zach to talk about the results

Not so much progress on this lately, I know. Zach hasn't replied to the message I sent him (or didn't see it?) and I also have not been able to work on this much. The winner announcement video will be here coming Friday.
