Thanks for the comments. Looking at the video again, the wind definitely changed direction as I got below 500 feet, swung from left to right. I guess I had set that in the global weather without noticing, it really took me unawares but I decided to go for it anyway. However, the windsock is pointing the opposite direction to the wind, very confusing. :?

Here is the .stg file for all the buildings:

mostly I used generic models but there are a few from Project Icejaw, just comment them out if you don't want to use them. Just go to Data/Scenery/Objects/w050s30/w044s23 and back up your existing 2232515.stg and replace it with this. It points to objects in Data/Scenery/Models. Also you will need Statto's Rio Scenery so they appear in the right place.

That was kinda scary. It was bad enough to have the wind switch directions like that, but it looked like you were approaching too fast, too. Even once you got over the runway, I expected to see the nose come up some, but it didn't. Would have been nice to see if you managed to come to a safe stop or not. Cutting that out of the video only leads me to think you overran the runway and crashed or something.

You guessed right! It's a short runway though.

Nice video.
The buildings really add a lot of realism.

Here's my heavy crosswind start and landing with the good old Tante Ju. 52 kt winds from 90° of the runway 27 at EDFM makes it a VSTOL aircraft. But it missed the aerodrome circuit a bit;-)

It's difficult to tell from the video if you touched the wheels down on the runway or not. Still, some good flying there, in the circumstances.
