Good luck to all! Even a slight crosswind at the airport makes the final turn hard... Think of this as the Kai Tak of the West, complete with "walls of death" (the restricted flying zones above the Pentagon and National Mall that sandwiches your final approach path).
IMPORTANT: In reality, this approach is a visual approach that can only be conducted if there is at least 3mi. visibility. Don't even think about cheating that... It's hard without that.
EDIT: To supplement the introduction video Oscar's kindly made, I feel like an actual demonstration flight may be needed here... Here it is!
This flight uses Statto's custom scenery for the Washington-Baltimore area, downloadable in his post below. Thank you again for the release.
Oscar and I were originally planning to release our own Custom Scenery from the Map Servers, which would actually make the area look like Washington DC (maybe even better than Statto's...? -just kidding) and not have buildings floating on the Potomac River, as shown in the video. However, technical and deadline issues prevented us from doing so. (
If you want to help me solve the underlying problem, please go to this thread.)
Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.
Despite having over 1700 posts here, I am not even close to being the most skilled guy here... I'm just words and bad drawing, not experience. :P
