777 Second Primary Flight Instrument Problem

Postby CaptainCrazyAviation » Wed Oct 30, 2019 1:25 pm

When I fly the 777, most of the time the Second Primary Flight Instrument (the one which shows your heading, flight route and waypoints) it glitches and gets frozen while the other instruments remain functional. What do I do? That is my biggest concern for now. The heading gets stuck on a number and then when I want to change the sight range from 5NM to 10NM it just stays the same. When I takeoff it normally works but after that it gets stuck. Help please. Looks ugly. Does anybody also have this problem and how to fix it?

Hi,
Next time it happens, could you open Debug > Nasal Console and post a screenshot here?

This is probably a recurrence of the infamous MapStructure error.

Please be sure you updated to the latest FlightGear version as there were several fixes to try to mitigate this problem.

By the way , how do you do it. I open Nasal Console but it is empty. What should I do to the Navigation Display to make it show on the Nasal Console. Sorry, just the first time doing this.

Okay thanks for letting me know. I would like to update you of my current model . I have checked that I have the latest Flightgear. By the way, I also changed to the github 777, it is more realistic especially with sound effects like the landing gear and has ground systems and stuff but the Navigation Display is still not functional. The heading indicator on the Navigation Display was stuck at 94 throughout the flight even when I turned during takeoff and landing. The ND was stuck for the whole flight. I always check by switching the view range from 10NM to 20NM and back. When I opened the 777, I tested by changing the view range but after I got my startup checklist completed I tested it again but it didn't work. Anyways, thanks for the help. Please reply soon.

Don't use the FGMEMBERS one - or at least you can, but you'll need to go to them for support - I will not provide support for aircraft that are illegal; besides it is old and outdated and doesn't have the latest bugfixes and major improvements by Isaak.

Are they actually illegal or just 3rd party models. If they are illegal then I will delete it. I won’t do illegal things!

But they both have the Navigation Display problem and the FGMEMBERS have better features. Well, I will change back.

It is not so much about whether if the aircraft are illegal as it is about whether they contain stolen resources like sounds and photo textures. They very strongly resented the idea of having aircraft maintainers that would go through contributions looking for possible bugs and copyright infringements before integrating them into aircraft.

As far as I could tell they literally swooped up all aircraft they could find and put them as separate repositories on their GitHub and, again, literally gave anyone who asked commit access to any of those repositories. They also argued that FlightGear should do that both before and after they had created those repositories and a separate forum.

For what it's worth the FGMEMBERS 777 does has stolen sounds; as I recall as well as textures from a payware aircraft from a commercial simulator.
