C172P T&P gauge at zero

Postby aplund » Fri Mar 31, 2017 2:25 am

I'm using the ArchLinux packaged version of FGFS 2017.1.1 which lists the C172P Version as 2017.1. So I'm not sure if this is changed in the 2017.1.2 release. But I've had the T&P gauge at zero for quite a while. Is this a known problem? Could I have some odd setting which is doing this?

What is the T&P gauge?

All the gauges should be working. If one isn't working then I would guess it is a local issue.

Oil temperature and pressure.

Any suggestions as to where to look? Should I change something from the ~/.fsfg directory?

Your should change something in /usr/share/games/flightgear (or the like) then.
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

Sorry for not replying sooner, it seem to me these gauges were broke a version or two back. You should try to upgrade to the most current version if you can and see if that correct it. There is currently no known issue with the oil temp or pressure gauges.

Hmm.. just tried 2017.1.3 with archlinux packages. Still reading zero. Would TerraSync have anything to do with it?

@aplund
Sorry for the slow response on this. It is a bug and we have a fix for it already. It will be corrected in the next release. It only happens when you choose "not" to use "complex engine procedures and failures".
If you want the fix now you can replace engine.nas with the fix at
https://github.com/c172p-team/c172p-detailed/blob/6f07e6facb6a88a01236cde5a70ee2599ab8d91b/Nasal/engine.nas

Thank you for reporting this and again sorry for the slow response.
