My idea is to keep most of the content and layout the same as now, but just update graphics?

We're pretty much going with the same layout, (say 4 main buttons for example) and adding in subdivisions like we have already.

I wanted to keep it airplane color oriented, so i chose the sky colors. Idk, the layout i kind of have makes it feel a bit modern.

I meant like this:

Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.

Despite having over 1700 posts here, I am not even close to being the most skilled guy here... I'm just words and bad drawing, not experience. :P

That kinda looks like the color scheme of the forums.

Coincidential.
I actually meant the gradient to be the combo of the FG banner and a random screenshot...

But that works too.

No offense intended here, Kyo, but that header looks incredibly childish and unprofessional. I seriously hope that this is an "early-alpha" version?

Super-early-alpha Version.

I did it in ~30 seconds to quickly sum up what I meant...

You want to talk unprofessional? Check out the current homepage of FlightGear.org:

The placement of the ads and the size of them really compromises the trustworthiness of the project. I have sent several people to this website, and each time I feel obliged to say: "watch out for the enormous download button - it's a fake ad to another site. You have to look really close near the top to find the actual project info."

Please consider using one of the suggested layouts above that place the ads on the right side and place genuine page content at the top and left.
