Hi,
On mumble.zenserv.fr, you can only access to "control" rooms ("AFIS", "Approach", "Tower", "Ground"),
EXCEPT "Free" and "TEMP" rooms, in witch you can go where you like, and you can create temporary rooms.

Sorry for this very late answer.
Best regards.

Mumble radio

Postby icare38 » Fri Dec 15, 2017 10:37 pm

Hi,
The server :

mumble://mumble.zenserv.fr port 60303

is available (since long time).
It is 100% compatible FGExtend (it was designed for that).
Welcome to all.
Best regards.

New FGExtend release

Postby icare38 » Tue Jun 19, 2018 12:09 am

Release 2018.06.18

What's new in version 2018.06.18
1) New button to set 777 (and probably many other aircrafts) transponder mode to ALT, since it is not possible with 777, neither with cockpit interface, nor with F12. This is a problem when interacting with ATC-pie control.

Postby icare38 » Sat Sep 08, 2018 12:54 pm

Release 2018.09.08

What's new in 2018.09.08 release

1) Bypassed FGFS memory leak related to "telnet" connections, the connections are now maintained as long as they do not fall by themselves, previously there were about 3 connections established and closed per second.

can you provide more information about this? i've not seen anything on the developers' mailing list about it... is there a bug in the tracker about it??
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Memory leaks

Postby icare38 » Wed Sep 12, 2018 1:36 pm

Hi wkitty42,

Thanks for your post.
I tried to contact you by email, but i didn't get any reply.

About "telnet" memory leak, write a program initiating/reading some properties/closing connection about 3/4 times per second, then you will note the issue.

Here an other memory leak problem, very easy to observe in PHNL, seems to be related to MP traffic.
Please take care about it.

I know that most flightgear users make one flight, then leave FGFS, and/or turn off their computers, but it's actually a problem for me, and anyway it's not acceptable for a program to leak memory.

Best regards.

RAM 7.8 Go - PHNL 20H00 (FG OL*)

Since i have "only" 16 Go RAM, i NEED to restart FGFS.

*FGOL means flightgear online (MP)

it never appeared on the list because you sent it to "-requests"... "flightgear-devel-requests" is for configuration options like joining, unjoining, receiving emails or digest, etc...

the proper address to send posts to for the developers' mailing list is flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net... please try to send it to the list again...

Hi again wkitty42,

Thank you very much.

For some reason, i did'nt receive your mail (not deleted unintentionally, nor in junk folder).

however, fgextend@autosoft.fr seems to work.

Best regards.

EDIT2: 13:18 -0400 : i see your post on the dev list... glad we figured that one out for you :)

zenserv migration

Postby icare38 » Tue Jan 01, 2019 1:50 pm

Thanks to test.

Due to excessive zenserv connection delay reported by some users, i'm now testing a new murmur hosted on OVH:
flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr
standard mumble port 64738

For FGExtend users, just update your FGExtend database, then edit the first server and enter your callsign.

On the other hand, there is a new FGExtend release , link unchanged.
Minor upgrades, except for MacOS users, the radio feature should now work properly.
Thanks to Laurent (F-BLCD).

Best regards.

Happy new year.

Maybe I missed the link, but is the source code available anywhere? I have a policy of not installing binaries from untrusted sources if I can help it.

New FGExtend release 2019.02.14

Postby icare38 » Sun Feb 17, 2019 2:52 pm

Linux and Windows only, MACOSX will be soon available (8-10 days, check).

1) Display of the list of ATCs as a tree (the previous list mode remains available).
2) Introduction of a scenery quality score of managed airports:
0 - Not scored
1 - No air park
2 - Air park
3 - Unrealistic buildings
4 - Realistic buildings
5 - Near true life realism
3) Possibility to find the list of airports managed in a given radius (in Nm):
Enter the desired radius in the "Find" field, optionally followed by ";Q", where Q is the desired minimum scenery quality.

Mumble

Postby icare38 » Mon Nov 11, 2019 4:04 pm

Hi everybody,

The itpns.ddns.net murmur server seems to be down since last night (more exactly the DNS says "unknow").

This is an opportunity to switch to flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr
(standard mumble port 64738).

It's running on a virtual machine hosted by OVH since January 2019, without any issue, always available.

Everybody is welcome (pilots and ATCs), regardless using FGExtend or not.

If a new room is needed (Airport, FIR, ...), just ask me (on the server or by mail FGExtend at autosoft.fr), i' ll add it asap.

Best regards,

And have nice flights.

New FGExtend release 2020.06.04

Postby icare38 » Thu Jun 04, 2020 3:43 pm

Linux and Windows only, the MACOSX version will be available later.

1) Now using the Python script allowing the download of the "Buildings" / "Pylons" / "Roads" sub-directories.
2) Resumption of the configuration dialog (better readability, Terrasync flexibility, abandonment of TerraGIT).
3) Optional request for confirmation before leaving the program.

The previous release (2019.02.14) has been downloaded 466 times.

In addition, access to the murmur server via flightgear-radio.autosoft.fr will soon or later be removed; use radio-mumble.flightgear.fr instead.
