Sorry that some of the second post was already in the first. I searched Mongoose first post, httpd second post, and that was all that came up.

The sim is still running and I've still not seen the PHI page load in the FireFox Browser.

Something I also wanted to report is that not all of the tabs worked when the PHI did load in the past. For instance, I've never seen it load properties. I had written that off to Work In Progress, but I see that you have been able to list properties.

I can re-install a nightly build from last week and give a list of all the things that didn't work, if that is interesting to you.

Map and metar worked when the PHI worked and I was happy with that much. Other things worked too, but it would have been nice to see all the things work that I've seen in this thread working.

P.s. Still no errors in the log as I write this. I could up the log level if required.

A bit of weirdness...

I originally used "http://localhost:8080/gui/

but when it did not load I changed localhost in the url in place to "http://127.0.0.1:8080/gui/

and got this much page only

Image

The browser replaced the 127.0.0.1 by itself

The browser is just making it pretty; localhost is 127.0.0.1 and vice versa.

That URL that you are using (localhost:8080/gui/) is the old URL and will trigger a redirect. I wonder if that's part of the problem? You can use http://localhost:8080 now.

(I suspect that this won't help, given that you already tried http://localhost:8080/#Map).

I used http://localhost:8080/gui/ first, got nothing. As it was still trying to load nothing I changed the url to http://127.0.0.1:8080/gui/ and immediately the browser changed 127.0.0.1 into local host and you can see the result of what loaded in the picture above.

Have you looked at your firewall logs?

Sorry, guys. If we want to track this down we ne to be a bit more precise.
What does "does not load" exactly mean?
Do you get an error message e.g. 404 not found or that Phi-Fragment with just a single tab like above?

Please make sure: omit the gui/ part in the URL. It is no longer valid.
The correct URL is http://localhost:8080/

If Phi does not show up,
- click on the tripple-bar button (upper right corner in the screenshot above) and select "Developer Tools" and than "Network Monitor"
- Refresh the URL by pressing F5
- Watch the log on the bottom of the window. You should see many requests resulting in a green bubble followed by "200 GET" and some other stuff.

- Chrome stalls on "waiting for local host"
- The tab did get the right title, so something got through.
- When I click chromes 'stop' button, the Phi header and 1 empty tab appears, and nothing else.
- Tried shutting of AV with its firewall, same result.
- FG 3.5 build number 1946

Okay, switching to the debugger it say "The Page Has No Sources".

Did we have to update /data recently?

Gosh I wish there was more communication when we need to update /data, because I've been getting 3.5 executables for many weeks but only ever updated /data the very first time.

the /data at http://download.flightgear.org/builds/nightly/

is dated 2015-03-14 16:58 and that's why i've not updated data.

Is there another place to get the required data that might be much more recent?

The wiki shows this address to get updated /data...
https://git.gitorious.org/fg/fgdata.git
...but the link is broken.

The builds are being offered at sourceforge now: http://sourceforge.net/projects/flightg ... /unstable/

Looks like you either have to get a -full package, or clone FGdata (if you clone, you won't have to keep downloading it all the time).

P.S. @clrCoda: Gitorious is gone now, FGData et al. are now on sourceforge.
Thanks,

Hi Philosopher, thanks.

Yeah, I knew that. I was just pointing out the hickey at the wiki.

But are we agreed that this is possibly time to update /data locally?
