An archive of airport diagrams from A/FD

Postby jlmcgraw » Fri Jan 16, 2015 2:30 pm

I've written a little script to extract all airport diagrams from the A/FD

The current output is here https://www.dropbox.com/s/1lossw0a04kbrun/2015-01-16%20AFD%20Images%20.tar.xz?dl=0

Do with it as you will, I can't make any guarantees as to it's accuracy.

I'd appreciate it if you folks could take a look and see if the script got any airports wrong or didn't catch the image and then let me know. I spot-checked airports I'm familiar with and they look good but it's entirely possible that some aren't and I'd like to correct them

Let me know if you use it, I'm curious to hear what people might do with it.

Enjoy!
Jesse

Hello

I did something similar with the Aircraft of flightgear. (viewtopic.php?f=72&t=25119)
I can't look at it now, but would you mind sharing the script? We could perhaps merge them and build periodically. That way, all sorts of automatically extracted data can be found at one place. (eg, have a look at http://fgfsdocs.glycos.org, where I collected aircraft data)
