Problem about FGPlot

Postby umbanana » Sat Jan 18, 2014 8:57 am

Hello guys, I've met some problems while using fgplot. (My FG version is 2.10.0.3 and my system is Windows7.)

Image
Image
as is shown in the pictures, all the windows and buttons are properly shown but pressing ">" plots nothing...
And the error instructed by the launcher is "No such member: set" and "Undefined member Do_plot". But Do_plot is well defined in the code I think...

The codes mentioned are here: https://gitorious.org/fg/fgdata/source/00bc5df63822a25d777cd847d906be7ba6eeacad:gui/dialogs/fgplot.xml

Does anybody know where the problem may be?

Maybe you are using an old FlightGear version that does not support canvas. What is your FlightGear version? How did you install fgplot?

This is the specific line that is failing, for easier reference:
https://gitorious.org/fg/fgdata/source/ ... t.xml#L437

Hi, sa7k!

I'm using FGv2.10.0.3
It's written on the wiki page of fgplot that version above v2.8 is OK. So my vesion may not cause a problem i think.

Installation: I put the 4 relevant xml files(fgplot.xml fgplot_opt fgplot_selector fgplot_help) in /gui/dialog, and added something to the menu & menubar file as the developper said.
 confusing..

BTW: My system is windows 7, does it matter?

Thanks, Philosophor, for pointing out the failing line!
I'm not good at coding...so I still can't see why it fails and how to correct?
Did you ever use the fgplot feature before?

I found the problem...
It's the FlightGear version. I've tried v2.8.0.5 v2.10.0.3 and v2.12.0.1, it turned out that the earlier the version is, the more problem there are...
fgplot runs perfectly in 2.12 and only in 2.12 in my PC...

FGPlot probably uses newer features only found in 2.10+ - 2.80 being the first version to include canvas support, and FGPlot development having started around the 2.10 release timeline, that makes perfectly sense. Apparently, the developer just didn't add any version checks to detect such incompatibilities - but that's trivial to do using getprop("/sim/version") - see TheTom's code for examples.
