$FG_ROOT is FlightGear X.X.X/data/
_HOME is C:/Users/You/AppData/Roaming/flightgear.org

also what does this mean?

Use FG ROOT/Nasal/fgcamera/fgcamera_cfg as config. If you use fgrun, open advanced settings, go to "General" and select config path (point to fgcamera_cfg.xml)

I guess I keep asking that in various places, but what is the status of this project with regard to the FG repository?

Is it GPL licensed?

Is there interest to get this committed to FGData?

Are there things which need to be solved before?

Personally, I think it looks like a rather neat feature to have, and I would be entirely willing to be involved reviewing and eventually committing this, but reading through the thread, playing nice with other features (like for instance the cyclic mouse behavior and mouse to look around) are kind of important - so I'd really appreciate a clear statement from the maintainer where this is supposed to go before getting more active on it.

Thank you for an offer.

Is it GPL licensed?

Currently, it's license-free.

Is there interest to get this committed to FGData?

Yes.

Are there things which need to be solved before?

Yes. I am converting it from "Nasal based" to "Property rules based". FGCamera should be suitable for using/reviewing till the end of this year.

Hi,

I have realised that most people have been having problems with using FGCamera. Can anyone make a video tutorial on how to use it or is there one present already?

Marius_A has done a tremendous job and i have used his templates to run FGCamera with the TrackIR flawlessly, i recommend everyone to use it and i will post a guide on how to use FGCamera with the motion sensor soon.

FGcamera + FaceTrackNoIR?
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

FTFY ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Development version is here.

Installation:
  1. Remove previous versions of fgcamera;
  2. Extract to $FG_ROOT/Nasal;
  3. Rename $FG_ROOT/mice.xml to mice.xml-original;
  4. Copy $FG_ROOT/Nasal/fgcamera/mice.xml to $FG_ROOT/
