HDR and Instrument Digits

Postby polly » Tue May 09, 2023 2:58 pm

Maybe someone can confirm, for some models, e.g. c172p, Lancair235 with HDR the Comm and NAV red display digits are fixed at 0000; with the c310dpm-3d or with HDR disabled the digits show frequencies properly. I've a suspiciion the KAP140 malfunctions , too, when HDR is enabled.

Edit I'm guessing (tm) it's to do with the non-working instruments use png while the ones that work seem to use rgb visuals.

There have been some changes to PNG compression on next lately, so maybe they are related.

Isn't it lack of texttranslate animation with HDR related?

I have same in several aircraft, seems like the textranslate animation does not work in HDR.

Um, Is it something that can be fixed in the model, then ? I'm puzzled that the png image for the kx165 shows a blank display with the 0-9 numerals below, when the plane loads the zero numerals show on the instrument but they can't be advanced. How are the zeroes managed differently ?
