The animated jetway system has been merged into Git. Will write some wiki documentation ASAP.

Skyop: Instead of the logo texture (regardless which I choose, even none) the texture of the whole jetway will be loaded at the place of the logo. :(

As of now, project is dead. System removed from Git.

Huh? Why so suddenly?
Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.

Technical issues with Terrasync and conflict with core leaders. See mailing list post:

I see. (but just to confirm, the conflict is nothing personal, is it?)

@Skyop, how do I disable these new jetways so they do not load at KSFO and other such airports?
I would like to do this so I can install FG on my external hard drive. As you saw, I am in the process of upgrading to GIT, so I need all of the aircraft to be on the external.
Thanks,

They should be disabled by default.

Being the person who eventually decided to back out parts of the jetway code from git (after having committed the merge in the first place), I can only state that the reasons are purely technical. I will spare the long technical explanation, but basically it boils down to something like "while the code may work with the current version of FlightGear / current scenery, we have identified parts that are likely to cause conflict in future releases of either flightgear and/or the scenery" and have provided some guidlines on how to address these. In addition, some parts of the commit shouldn't have gone into git straight away, but synced from the terrasync/scenemodels database.

Skyop, personally, I have nothing but the highest regards for your contributions, in particular when it comes to your aircraft contributions. Adding a system like the animated jetways is way more complicated than contributing an aircraft in certain ways. For this reason, it is certainly no shame that the details aren't right the first time, or the second time. However, as committers, we do need to ensure a certain level of consistency exists and in this particular case, a number of concerns hadn't been addressed yet, so it shouldn't have gone into git in it's present state in the first place. I do hope that an improved version will see the light of day, because the idea itself is pretty neat, and it is my impression that most of the development team shares that idea.

Cheers,
Durk

@Quix0r: I mean when I spawn there I want there to be no jetway models. Do I just delete the Jetways folder from data/Airports?

I understand Durk; sorry, but I was slightly discouraged when the commit was reverted. I'll make the changes and see if Martin approves.

@Muffinman, go to Environment > Jetway Settings and disable the relevant checkboxes.

Okay so after I got these jetways, half of my AI planes Mysteriously disappeared!! Like you know the bunch of Air Canada 737's and the Cathay/KLM/United 747's disappeared too

Also in Gattwick airport there are only like 2 AI planes!!!
Won't be doing much anymore....

Could you post how to make "disabled" the default. It is starting to get a bit annoying having my frame rate be around 1 every time I start up.
