I was surprised to see EGKA in the list of improved airports, however when I checked unitedfreeworld, I couldn't find it. Is there someplace else where I could find it? Thanks :)

This list is for scenery officially in the repository... not saying other scenery is bad but everyone should be able to download these easily!

Check the terrasync checkbox in fgrun and (optional?) add a separate terrasync scenery directory to scenery search path and adjust the terrasync directory index accordingly (both on the very first page of fgrun - press Prev).

Is there any way we can make this thread a sticky? I think it's useful. In the very least, it helps me out.

Hey,
I'm delighted to see the amount of interest in my EGKA buildings. If you only want to have a quick look at them, there is an easy way to do so:

Choose Southampton airport (EGKI) with the UFO. That means you are not in the same scenery tile as EGKA.
Provided you are using the UFO, it doesn't matter if you do not have that area of scenery, and if you have enabled terrasync (for Mac - tick 'Download scenery on the fly'), you just need to fly East for about 60 miles and there it is right by the coast.

Using the UFO means you can be there in a few moments, plus you can stop and have a mosey round. Whilst you are there, you could carry on Eastwards along the coastline and take a look at Shorham Lighthouse, then Shoreham Power Station, then Brighton Pier, then Brighton Marina. Then you could carry on east to Beachy Head Lighthouse, and almost directly east from there is the Royal Sovereign Lighthouse platform.

Have fun.

....I use TerraSync and it doesn't have Tokyo-Haneda... anyone know why?
Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.

Despite having over 1700 posts here, I am not even close to being the most skilled guy here... I'm just words and bad drawing, not experience. :P

Hi kyokoyama ,
Did you try the method above?
You need to be some distance (on another scenery tile) from your chosen place, to allow its scenery to be loaded as you approach from elsewhere. That's why I recommend using the UFO (2000+ mph)

Another way to do this is to place your aircraft at the airport of your choice and wait for about 1 minute. That is usually enough for terrasync to download the needed files. (You can also check in the console window whether the Objects and Terrain directories are being downloaded.) The next time you start FG, the scenery should be there.

Hi Gijs, I've never seen that button on my computer, neither here: http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/Im ... -page3.jpg

Can you clarify that?

Thanks, David

by the phrase "scenery prefetch", do you mean to use TerraGear?

Terragear has to be setup to use the prefetch button, but the difference with "ordinary" Terragear is that it downloads the scenery before you fly, instead of whil you fly.
