Download scenery to play offline

Postby rommel » Thu Apr 29, 2021 8:13 pm

Hello all;

I used the URL http://ns334561.ip-5-196-65.eu to download scenery and play offline; but this site is not available now.
Is there any URL to download scenery?

The easiest way to download scenery is to enable automatic download. You can do this in the launcher through Settings (Cogwheels) > Downloads > (--o) Download scenery automatically.

You can also enable this in FlightGear through Main Menu > File > Scenery Download > [x] Enable automatic scenery download.

If you are at an airport you have not been at before it might take several minutes to download that tile. This will also automatically download any updates to the scenery tiles you are flying over.

If (reading your title) you want to use FlightGear later offline, you can use TerraMaster. It might not download the OSM-based components (such as power lines and most roads and buildings) though.
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

I have been using TerraMaster v2.03 for offline use of selected scenery areas of the TerraSync world scenery. In the settings window, there are options to select buildings, pylons and roads to sync. I assume those come from the OSM-based components.

TerraMaster can be download from: https://portree-kid.github.io/terramaster/

Yes but sadly the setup was changed and I haven't had time to adapt. They now reside on different servers.
