D-ECHO Caribbean scenery edit?

Questions and discussion about enhancing and populating the FlightGear world.

I would not recommend using anything by "FGMEMBERS" for various reasons, even though I can't find anything too bad about this repository specifically. Considering the models in this repository are mostly just a clone from terrasync, it's better to get it from there, even though at the moment I don't know how.

[Update]

After searching a bit: this is where all shared models are: http://flightgear.sourceforge.net/scenery/Models/

And another update, when using Linux, you can open a terminal and type in:
wget -r -np -nH -R index.html http://flightgear.sourceforge.net/scenery/Models/
to get all models

(thanks to http://wiki.flightgear.org/TerraSync#terrasync.py and https://stackoverflow.com/questions/234 ... hey-appear )

The model package you recommended seems to do the job with considerably less storage than mine.

Some of the airports look so bare. May I add some shared objects using your model package?

How does a person get new scenery like this included in the public scenery package? Or is that just not happening?

You can submit objects via scenery.flightgear.org Terrain is submitted by talking to the maintainer of terrasync

Still a bit I'm trying to understand.
It was just a thought.

The only thing about the Models is a lack of small airport terminals.

Great! Now I have an addiction to Blender. :)
That appears to be the answer to my challenge.
Maybe I'll build my own FBO at St Kitts.

Edit: I gather by experimentation that the scale in Blender is in meters.
Little buildings look ok at 3 meters tall.

Correct. Units are meters.

I've always wanted to own my personal bar and grill. Now I have one with a ramp.

I was hoping this would be incorporated into the standard scenery by now.
I still enjoy it, but I know that other pilots flying the Caribbean do not see these airports like I do.

The Pirate's Grotto is on my personal version only. I kinda like the Sim City part of this simulator.

I thought it was in terrasync by now, but it seems like it was forgotten or so along the way, I'll bring it up again :)

Thanks! It's really good scenery. The airport runways are much more accurate.
I'm using the scenery right now. I'm parked and idling at Pirate's Grotto at St Kitts.
Pirate's Grotto is only on my scenery.

Other members apparently like your scenery also.

Why hasn't it been incorporated into the standard scenery?
I was told it would go right through because it didn't have tile match problems.
Any idea when it will be added?
